Veeco's Beginnings

Veeco traces its history back to 1945, when it was founded in New York by helium leak detector inventors.  The company's original name, "Veeco" stood for Vacuum Electronics Engineering Company.

1970

Original NYSE Listing

In the 1960s, Veeco merged with Lambda, a manufacturer of power supplies.  The Company listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 1970. In 1989, the Company was acquired by Unitech P.L.C., a British manufacturer of electronic components.
